(PR) Acer to Invest in OPTOELECTRONICS – Expanding AIoT Edge Computing Portfolio

Acer Inc., Esquarre Vision Limited, and OPTOELECTRONICS CO., LTD., a Japanese AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture) solution provider known as Opticon, jointly announced plans for Acer and Esquarre to invest approximately 38% and 20%, respectively, in Opticon for JPY 1,589,419,104 and JPY 819,000,000. The transaction is expected to be completed in early 2026, supporting Opticon’s growth and global expansion.

For Acer, the move expands its portfolio, adding identification and machine vision solutions that will create synergy with its subsidiaries AOPEN (TWSE: 3046) and Posiflex (TWSE: 8114). AOPEN is a company which focuses on industrial computers for display engines and edge computing, while Posiflex Group is a global leader in Commercial AIoT, delivering smart online-to-offline (O2O) integrated solutions and scenario-defined embedded edge computing platforms.
