Today, during Summer Game Fest Live, Square Enix announced a new IP, in partnership with Ontario-based developer Tactic Studio. The game is called Killer Inn, and it’s a „murder mystery action game“–a mixture of a whodunit murder mystery and an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter.
Killer Inn is set in a mysterious mansion set deep in a mountain range, which is said to be undetectable by satellites and not included on any maps. Each match will feature up to 24 players, and they will be randomly separated into two uneven teams: the Wolves will have fewer players, while the Lambs will have more. Wolves must hunt down and kill each Lamb player in order for their team to win, while the Lambs must deduce who the Wolves are and kill them first in order to stay alive.
Players will assume the role of one of 30 different characters, each with their own unique abilities. Fernando the Boxer, for example, is immune to extra damage caused by headshots, while Sunny the Gamer gains 35 percent more XP than the rest of the cast.
