This is a submission for the World’s Largest Hackathon Writing Challenge: After the Hack.
Just a few weeks ago, I was deeply immersed in PLCs, SCADA systems, and the world of industrial automation. I’m an electronic engineer by trade, with years of experience in control systems—but this hackathon has truly transformed my perspective.
I entered the challenge with zero experience building a product for the web. Today, I’m walking away with a fully functional prototype of Mago.Chat —a magical assistant that turns WhatsApp conversations into thoughtful gift suggestions and AI-generated surprise cards.
⚡ The Spark: Building with Bolt.new
Discovering Bolt.new was a game-changer. It lowered the barrier of entry into frontend development and allowed me to build, deploy, and polish a product in record time. For someone coming from a non-web dev background, it felt like unlocking a superpower. I also explored tools like Supabase, ElevenLabs, and OpenAI, and gained hands-on skills in building serverless architectures and integrating AI models with real-world UX.
🧙 What is Mago.Chat?
Mago.Chat is an AI-powered wizard that analyzes WhatsApp chat exports to uncover preferences, shared memories, and personality patterns—and turns them into personalized gift suggestions and beautiful, magical cards.
🎥 How to Use Mago.Chat
Here’s a short video (in Spanish) where I explain how Mago.Chat works—from uploading your WhatsApp chat file to getting personalized gift suggestions and magical surprise cards:

🧠 What I learned
Prompt engineering is just the beginning—context design and user experience are key.
Vibe coding is a concept I embraced during the build: developing through intuition, fun, and flow.
I now see how accessible software building has become—not just for developers, but for creators and dreamers with no prior tech experience.
I gained confidence in connecting frontend, backend, and AI systems into a working product. That used to seem unreachable.
🚀 Where I’m going next
This isn’t the end—it’s the beginning of a new path. I’m fully committed to turning Mago.Chat into a real-world product. I see two main business directions:
B2C:
- Offer free gift suggestions to users.
- Monetize through affiliate links (Amazon, Mercado Libre, etc.).
- Sell credits for access to premium AI-generated cards. Each user gets some free cards to start—but to continue exploring, they’ll be invited to purchase credits.
B2B:
- Partner with businesses that want to promote their products or services through Mago.Chat.
- For example, a travel agency could have their packages recommended as gift ideas. Same goes for car maintenance services, experience gifts, or e-commerce offers.
- It becomes a traffic generator and conversion tool—personalized and conversational.
I believe Mago.Chat has great potential not only in North America but also in Colombia and across Latin America, where WhatsApp usage is massive and personal connections are everything.
💡 My personal transformation
What excites me the most is this shift: building things today is way more accessible than ever. You don’t need huge funding or big teams—you just need an idea and the right tools. That change is not just for me, but for my daughters too.
I have two teenage daughters, and now they’re starting to build their own projects. Seeing them step into the world of creation, with confidence and curiosity, has been the most rewarding part of this journey.
🤝 Looking for allies
I’m now looking for collaborators, early believers, and potential partners to help Mago.Chat grow. Whether you’re a dev, designer, marketer, or investor—if this project speaks to you, let’s connect. I’d love to explore ways to make magic together.
Thanks to the World’s Largest Hackathon for this amazing opportunity. I’ll never forget the rush of seeing my idea come alive in just a few days.
And now? I’m hooked.
I’m building.
I’m not going back.
