Apple’s next batch of upgraded MacBooks might not come out until next year, but it might be smart to buy one right now anyway.
A new report courtesy of Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicated that MacBooks with the as-yet-unreleased M5 chip may not ship later this year as initially expected. Instead, they could be delayed to 2026. While we don’t know this for sure yet, it’s worth considering as you think about what you want your next laptop purchase to be.
With that in mind, it’s worth pointing out that there are plenty of good Prime Day (or Prime Day-adjacent) deals on MacBooks right now. For instance, you can get the M2 MacBook Air for just $699 at Best Buy right now. I reviewed that one back when it launched in 2023 and actually still use it as my personal device on a daily basis. It’s just as fast and user-friendly now as it was then, too.
Heck, if you have a bit more cash on hand, the M4 MacBook Air is just $849 right now on Amazon. These are expensive machines normally, so if you don’t feel like waiting until next year, it might be smart to hop on one of these deals now.
